Mataram, April 20, 2025 — Desak Made Yoniartini, M.Pd.H., M.Pd., a lecturer at IAHN Gde Pudja Mataram, was invited as a  speaker at a seminar organized by Prajaniti Hindu Indonesia NTB. The event took place on the third floor of the Rectorate Building at IAHN Gde Pudja Mataram.

The seminar was attended by representatives of all Hindu organizations across West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), reflecting a shared commitment to strengthening religious understanding and community values.

In her presentation, Yoniartini emphasized that one of the key purposes of marriage in Hindu teachings is to have children. However, not just any offspring—what is expected is the birth of suputra, or virtuous children who will uphold and elevate the dignity of their parents.

She also highlighted that education in Hinduism begins in the womb. This early stage of moral and spiritual formation is not only the responsibility of the mother, but also involves the father, the entire family, and the wider community. As a form of prenatal education rooted in Hindu tradition, Yoniartini discussed the magedong-gedongan ceremony, which reflects the sacred values of nurturing the unborn child.

The Chairman of DPD Prajaniti Hindu Indonesia NTB, I Putu Dedy Saputra, S.T., M.M., through the Secretary of DPD Prajaniti NTB, I Gusti Agung Bagus Dwipayana, S.H., expressed his gratitude for the successful implementation of the seminar, made possible through the collaboration and support of the board and various stakeholders.

"In Hindu teachings, a child's education begins in the womb. This is a crucial phase that we must all understand together," he said.

Prajaniti Hindu Indonesia NTB expressed hope that the event would bring meaningful benefits to the Hindu community in the region and that such initiatives would be held consistently every year to reinforce cultural and spiritual values.

The seminar concluded with an engaging question-and-answer session, where participants had the opportunity to delve deeper into the concepts presented. Many raised questions about practical approaches to implementing early education in family settings, as well as the relevance of traditional ceremonies in contemporary Hindu households.

Yoniartini enthusiastically responded to each question, encouraging continued discussion within families and communities. She also emphasized the importance of intergenerational dialogue in preserving Hindu values and ensuring that teachings are passed down meaningfully to future generations. By.
