IAHN Gde Pudja Mataram and Monark University Sign Virtual MoU to Foster Academic and Cultural Collaboration

Mataram, July 31,2025 — The State Hindu University of Gde Pudja Mataram (IAHN Gde Pudja Mataram), Indonesia, and Monark University, Naroda, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India, have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in a virtual ceremony, marking the beginning of a meaningful academic and cultural partnership between the two institutions.

This collaboration aims to both institutions have agremented colaboration develpment for increasing its institution through visiting professor, public lecturer, and the other academic atmosphire. Both institutions also plan to co-organize international seminars, workshops, and curriculum development efforts that reflect the shared values and cultural heritage of Indonesia and India.

IAHN Gde Pudja Mataram, located in Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara, is a state higher education institution under the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia. Named after I Gusti Gde Pudja, a national hero and prominent Hindu leader, the university is deeply rooted in the mission of advancing Hindu theological education and interreligious understanding. It offers various programs in Hindu Theology, Dharma Studies, Sanskrit, Yoga, and Balinese Culture, and has become an important center for promoting religious moderation and cultural preservation in Southeast Asia.

Monark University, based in Naroda, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, is a private institution known for its dynamic academic environment and commitment to holistic education. With programs spanning Engineering, Management, Science, Humanities, and Commerce, the university integrates traditional Indian wisdom such as Yoga, Sanskrit, and Ayurveda into its modern curriculum. Monark emphasizes interdisciplinary learning, global competencies, and ethical leadership rooted in Indian cultural values.

During the virtual signing ceremony, leaders from both universities expressed their excitement for the opportunities this MoU will create. The Rector of IAHN Gde Pudja Mataram emphasized the importance of spiritual and cultural diplomacy through education, while the leadership of Monark University affirmed their dedication to strengthening ties with Southeast Asian academic institutions that share common goals. This partnership is expected to not only enrich the academic experience of students and faculty members but also contribute to a broader dialogue between nations with deep cultural and historical ties. It is a step forward in strengthening people-to- people connection and building a shared future through education.
