Mataram, Indonesia – April 10, 2025 – An insightful Forum Group Discussion (FGD) was held at IAHN Gde Pudja Mataram, bringing together academics and researchers from Indonesia and Japan. The event, themed “Opportunities and Challenges in International Research and Community Service in Environmental-Friendly Technology, Economy, and Religion,” was organized by the Faculty of Dharmaduta, Brahmawidya, and Dharma Sastra.
The discussion featured prominent figures, including Professor Takahi Sachiko and a research team from Nagoya University, Japan, alongside Dr. I Wayan Agus Arimbawa, Ph.D., representing Universitas Mataram (Unram). One of the main concerns raised was the environmental management of religious campuses, with delegates observing campus cleanliness and waste processing systems.
During the forum, Professor Sachiko’s team emphasized the need for eco-friendly ceremonial facilities, promoting waste discipline among communities. The discussion reinforced the idea that religion, economy, and environmental consciousness should function synergistically to support sustainable development.
By facilitating cross-institutional collaboration, the FGD encouraged innovative research and practical solutions for improving environmental sustainability in academic and community settings. This event is expected to spark future international research initiatives and community-based environmental projects. By DKS (Tim Humas dan Protokol)
